Considered by many to be Joss Whedon’s masterpiece of a western in space, Firefly featured the struggle of a lone ship for hire and her crew as they take not-so-legal jobs. The show begins with Captain Malcolm Reynolds agreeing to take a passenger who’s hunted by dark, authoritarian forces.
